Back in 1965, the Kerala government saw potential in the coastal area of Kochuveli and decided to build an industrial estate to help small businesses grow. It wasn’t easy – IDA Kochuveli finally took shape in 1968. At the beginning, the District Industries Centre (DIC) struggled to attract entrepreneurs. The first unit holders faced challenges from unfriendly business attitudes and difficulties with loading and unloading. But things changed for the better in 1992, 1994, 2000, and 2018 when our Association won important court cases that made the situation better. Today, Kochuveli is the go-to place for entrepreneurs in Thiruvananthapuram.
